How to Master you fear of public speaking

Everyone knows that choosing a great topic for your speech, is half the battle won. So how do you choose an appropriate topic for your speech? First of all, ask yourself, what are your interests and area's of expertise, chances are, if it is something that bores you, it will also bore your audience. There is no quicker way to commit public speaking suicide, than by lulling your audience to sleep, with a boring speech. People will tune you out, so choose a topic, you are really passionate about, because the upside is that people will respond, they will feel your passion, your excitement, your interest in what you are saying, remember excitement and enthusiasm is contagious. Be definite and clear about your topic, one side of the road or the other, no mediocre middle of the road stuff, because you know what happens to things that are middle of the road, they end up as road kill. What are your own personal experiences, because there is strength in what you've gone through in your life, who can speak on you, better than you. Another way to choose a dynamic topic, is to draw from the main stream media, it's like the flavor of the month, or the book of the month club, what's popular this month. Most importantly emphasize what you learned from the experience, and how it can help your audience. You are there to deliver something of value to your audience, and it is what they expect. Focus on the message not the messenger, and you will master your fear of public speaking.
